The development

Google’s September 1, 2026 roundup includes August’s Gemini 3.5 Transcribe development. It describes a speech-to-text model for workflows such as voice agents, live captioning, and post-call analysis. The vendor’s descriptions of quality should be distinguished from independent evaluation of a particular recording. [1]

Review what the system actually heard

Our coaching takeaway is to keep the recording available when feedback depends on transcription. A polished transcript can conceal a repeated phrase, a long pause, or an incorrectly recognized term. Decide whether you are reviewing the meaning of the answer or its spoken delivery, because the two exercises require different evidence.

For content review, correct important transcription errors and ask whether the answer addresses the question. For delivery review, listen to the audio and note specific moments that make the explanation harder to follow. Do not assume a transcript can establish everything about pace or tone. Comparing the two records helps you identify whether the next change belongs in the story, the wording, or the recording setup. Better transcription can support that process, but it does not replace careful listening.
