The development
Google’s September 9, 2026 AI plan update described using voice in Gmail, Docs, and Keep for drafting, information retrieval, and capturing thoughts. The listed capabilities depended on the app and subscription plan. It was a workflow update, rather than an interview-coaching claim. [1]
Capture the story before polishing it
Our preparation suggestion is to begin a story bank by speaking. Explain a project as you would to a colleague, capture the draft, and then identify the problem, your action, and the result. This can surface details that disappear when you begin by trying to write a perfect interview answer. Keep the first draft as a record of what you actually remember.
During editing, remove repetition and add evidence from your notes. Ask an assistant to flag missing information rather than fill it in. Then rehearse the edited version aloud to check that it still sounds like an explanation you would give. Voice drafting should help you move from memory to structure. It should not convert a rough recollection into a confident factual claim without a check against what happened.
