Complete stealth needs a defined observer
If you are worried about exposing private interview notes, a promise of complete stealth can sound reassuring. The useful question is who can observe what. A meeting participant sees the transmitted screen and camera feed. A device administrator may have other visibility. A person in the room can see the physical display. These are different privacy boundaries.
A desktop overlay can be excluded from supported screen-capture paths. That can be useful, but it does not establish that the application, its files, permissions, or network activity cannot be discovered. A vendor should identify the operating system, capture method, and versions covered by its claim.
What competitors actually say
In our October 2, 2026 review, InterviewCopilot describes a protected desktop overlay and lists both Windows and macOS exclusion mechanisms. Its same page also acknowledges cameras, managed devices, installed-file inspection, and behavioral signals as limitations. Those disclosures matter: it would be inaccurate to characterize every vendor as promising invisibility to every observer.
Amigo's reviewed documentation makes a broader claim about capture pipelines and cites Windows display-affinity flags. Microsoft describes the API as protecting content through particular public OS features and expressly declines to guarantee strict protection. That difference supports challenging an absolute interpretation; it does not establish intentional deception or prove that a specific version fails a specific meeting workflow. [1]
Hardware separation changes one boundary
When assistance is generated on a separate computer and displayed outside the interview computer's captured desktop, it need not be a window on that desktop. This is an architectural distinction from asking the interview OS to omit a local window. It remains conditional on the actual display and capture paths, and it does not remove camera visibility or room observation.
For an anxious buyer, a precise privacy statement is more useful than an absolute slogan. Ask for a diagram of what runs where and evidence for the boundary you care about. Establish which assistance is permitted before using it in an interview.
