A clean recording proves a limited result
A recording without an overlay is evidence about that recording's capture path and configuration. It does not prove that every recorder, OS release, meeting mode, or device-management tool will behave the same way. This distinction matters when you are deciding whether private preparation material might appear in a shared view.
Windows provides a supported flag for excluding certain windows from capture, introduced in Windows 10 version 2004. Microsoft's reference also identifies composition requirements and warns that the protection is not a strict guarantee. These conditions should appear beside a broad undetectability claim. [1]
Separate screen privacy from device privacy
A window excluded from a meeting feed can still belong to an installed application. Permission records, executable files, and monitoring visibility are separate issues from captured pixels. InterviewCopilot's October 2026 documentation acknowledges several of these limits. That is a more specific disclosure than a headline alone, and should be considered in any fair comparison.
Software products vary. A browser assistant, native desktop overlay, and meeting bot expose different information. Do not infer identical detectability from a shared category label. Our source review did not include installing these products or measuring receiver-side recordings, so it cannot report independent pass or fail results.
How hardware changes the question
A separate device can keep assistance windows off the interview computer altogether. That reduces reliance on a capture-exclusion feature for that particular content path. It does not prove there are no visible devices, reflections, camera observations, or contextual clues.
For permitted use, ask for a privacy explanation in terms of the exact meeting and equipment configuration. If a vendor claims every capture mechanism is covered, request evidence and limitations. Do not turn a successful narrow demonstration into a promise of complete invisibility.
