The development

Anthropic introduced Claude Opus 4 and Claude Sonnet 4 on May 22, 2025. The announcement emphasized coding, advanced reasoning, and agent capabilities. Those model evaluations did not measure whether an individual candidate could understand or defend generated code. [1]

Use generated code as a review exercise

Our interview application is to study a solution critically rather than accept it as a finished lesson. Identify the inputs, the invariants, and the failure cases. Ask why the implementation uses a particular data structure. If the answer depends on an unstated assumption, make that assumption explicit before comparing alternatives.

A useful rehearsal can begin with a small piece of code you already understand. Explain it to a partner, then change one constraint and discuss what must change. This checks whether your explanation is tied to the problem or merely repeats a familiar pattern. Generated solutions can supply material for review, but your own tests and reasoning should decide whether they work. For a technical interview, practice making those decisions visible in a concise conversation.
