The development

Google made Gemini 2.5 Flash and Pro generally available on June 17, 2025, and introduced Flash-Lite in preview. The announcement described a range of trade-offs involving speed, cost, and reasoning, rather than a single model for every task. [1]

Match the tool to the question

Our interpretation for preparation is to separate lightweight drills from detailed review. Generating ten variations of a question is different from evaluating a nuanced project decision. Define what a useful response must do before choosing an assistant: follow the prompt, stay within your facts, and give feedback you can act on.

Try the same small exercise with the tools you already have access to. Compare whether they identify a real gap, not which one writes the longest critique. Save deeper review for the points that require it. This keeps practice focused and avoids spending the whole session comparing vendors. Model rankings can guide exploration, but the relevant evidence is how well the assistant supports your actual rehearsal, with your role, examples, and time constraints.
