The development
OpenAI’s Realtime API announcement records general availability on August 28, 2025, following its October 2024 public beta. This update concerned the developer platform for real-time experiences. It did not by itself create a standard interview-training curriculum. [1]
Separate conversation quality from training quality
Our practical interpretation is that a smooth voice conversation can remove friction while leaving the educational design unchanged. A friendly partner may still ask generic questions or praise weak examples. Set the role, the question type, and the feedback criteria before starting. Ask for one follow-up grounded in each answer rather than a random sequence of prompts.
Review a session in two parts. First, note interaction issues: premature interruptions, missed words, or losing the thread. Then review the content: relevance, evidence, and clarity. This helps you choose the next action. You may need a different microphone, a better brief, or another example from your work. Those are distinct problems, and a single overall score hides them. Keep a record of the improvement you want to test in the next rehearsal.
